NORTH VERNON POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE

Break-in at Kromet America

On Monday, March 3, 2008 at 3:45am, officers of the North Vernon Police Department were dispatched to Kromet America on West O&M Avenue in reference to a Possible Break-in.

A delivery driver had called a manager and reported that he had noticed someone in the office. The manager in turn called Central Dispatch to report an unauthorized person in the building.

The building was searched using the Police K9 and no persons were found. However, officers were able to detain Jason E Griffin, 47, of North Vernon a short distance from the factory. He was identified by the driver as the suspect and then Arrested.

Officers involved with this incident were Officer Brian Taylor, K9 Blade, Officer Andrew Richmond, Deputy Anthony Maberry, and Deputy Doug Pittman.

Mr Griffin is charged with Criminal Trespass (A Misdemeanor) and Computer Trespass (A Misdemeanor). Bond is listed as $550.
