Large Methamphetamine Seizure

On October 15, 2007 at about 5:30 pm, officers of the North Vernon Police Department Drug Investigation Team and Emergency Response Team served a search warrant inside Country Squire Lakes that led to the discovery of a large amount of methamphetamine, heroin, drug paraphernalia, and a stolen firearm.
The search warrant was obtained after an investigation by the Drug Investigation Team. The Emergency Response Team aided in the service of the warrant which resulted in the seizure of 114.9 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, also know as “Ice”. Also seized were 20 packaged bindles of powder Heroin along with digital weight scales, other various items of paraphernalia and a stolen handgun. The street value of the drugs seized is about $17,000.
The investigation is still active and charges are pending against more than one suspect.
The North Vernon Police Department was assisted during this incident by the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department and the Country Squire Lakes Security Staff. The search warrant was issued by Jennings County Circuit Judge John Webster.
