Search Warrant Leads to Drug Arrest

On Sunday, August 26 , officers of the North Vernon Police Department Served a Search Warrant at 750 North Elm Street which resulted in the Arrest of an adult female and juvenile son.
Officers were able to get the warrant after information from an investigation led them to the address on Elm Street. Located during the search were numerous items of Drug Paraphernalia including Smoking Pipes, items to prepare the drugs for use, items to package and store drugs, Cash , a Firearm, a Portable Police Radio, and a small amount of Marijuana.
A 17 year old White Male was Arrested for Dealing in Marijuana within 1000 feet of a park (C Felony), Possession of Marijuana (A Misdemeanor), Reckless Possession of Paraphernalia (B misdemeanor).
Leanne B Ashenfleter, 42, of North Vernon was Arrested for Dealing in Marijuana within 1000 feet of a park (C Felony), Neglect of a Dependent (C Felony), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (D Felony), Possession of Marijuana (A Misdemeanor), Reckless Possession of Paraphernalia (B Misdemeanor).
The 17 year old was transported to the Jackson County Juvenile Detention
Center while Leanne Ashenfelter was taken to the Jennings County Jail and processed.
Officers involved in this investigation included Ofc. Brian Taylor, Sgt. Craig Kipper, Sgt. Jack Hatton , Ofc. Jason Allen, and Deputy Jason Bliton of the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department.
