Pursuit Ends with Two Arrests and Marijuana Seized

On Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007, at about 6:20pm, officers of the North Vernon Police Department Arrested Randall R Robinson, Jr (also known as
"Boo") and Jacob A Brooks after they failed to yield to a traffic stop and
then fled from officers.
Sgt. Craig Kipper attempted to stop the vehicle driven by Mr. Brooks, 26, of
Westport after seeing and recognizing Mr. Robinson, 27, of North Vernon.
Sgt. Kipper recognized that Mr. Robinson was Wanted on a Warrant. Sgt.
Kipper signaled the vehicle to stop and Mr. Brooks fled, driving through
the CVS Pharmacy Parking Lot, then drove through the Walgreen’s
Parking Lot before driving down South Gum Street. Mr. Robinson jumped
from the vehicle as it slowed down at the corner of South Gum and
Lincoln Streets. Sgt. Kipper stayed with Mr. Robinson as Officer Todd
Fleetwood and Officer Matt Staples intercepted the vehicle. The driver,
Mr. Brooks, then fled from the vehicle on foot and was caught by Officer
Staples.
Mr. Robinson was taken into custody and transported to the
Jennings County Jail without further incident. Mr. Brooks was in
possession of approximately a half pound of Marijuana. He was
also taken to the Jennings County Jail and processed without
further incident.
Charges:
Randall R Robinson, Jr ("Boo") - Wanted on Warrant for Probation Violation, Possession of Marijuana Over 30 Grams (D Felony), and Dealing in Marijuana (D Felony).
Jacob A Brooks - Wanted on Warrant for 2 counts: Failure to Appear for Driving While Suspended and Failure to Appear on Petition to Revoke Probation, Resisting Law Enforcement for 2 counts, Possession of Marijuana Over 30 grams, Possession of Paraphernalia, Dealing in Marijuana, and Illegal Possession of a Police Scanner.
