On April 9, 2007 at 8:45pm, Conservation Officer Bill Beville requested assistance from North Vernon Police Department Ofc. Brian Taylor and his K-9 Blade.
Conservation Ofc. Beville was near Wood Duck Pond in the Crosley Fish and Wildlife Area when he located two individuals in a vehicle. Neither had a driver's license and one of them was not wearing any clothing.
Beville received information from the Sheriff's Department that the individuals may be involved in illegal drugs. At this point Beville requested the assistance of Ofc. Taylor and Blade.
As they did a Walk-around of the vehicle, Blade indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle and also located two syringes under the truck. Officers further searched the truck and located several items used in the manufacture of methamphetamines. Some of the items found were tubing, matches, coffee filters, drain cleaner, strainers, funnels, and glass jars containing unknown liquids.
Josh Brewer and Aimee Chapman were arrested without incident on drug charges by Beville. This is a perfect example of what can be accomplished when law enforcement agencies work together. Also assisting Beville was the Jennings County Sheriff's Department.
