Probation Compliance Check Yields Drug Violations

On Sunday June 04, 2006 at approximately 12:25 a.m. North Vernon Police Officers assisted Jennings County Probation Officer Cory Walker with a probation compliance check in the 300 Block of 6th Street. Officers discovered marijuana that was being cultivated in a bedroom inside the residence. The plants were growing in 3 ceramic pots.
Toby Marsh, 23, of North Vernon was arrested for Violation of a Court Order (Probation Violation) a Class C Misdemeanor, Cultivating Marijuana (with a prior marijuana conviction) a Class D Felony, Possession of Marijuana less than 30 grams (with a prior conviction) a Class D Felony, Resisting Law Enforcement a Class A Misdemeanor, and Battery on a Police Officer a Class A Misdemeanor. Mr. Marsh is currently on probation with Jennings County Superior Court Probation for Possession of Marijuana.
During Mr. Marsh’s apprehension, he resisted and battered a Police Officer. Mr. Marsh was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Jennings County Jail. Additional marijuana was later located inside a vehicle found outside the residence. The vehicle was registered to Mr. Marsh.
Mr. Marsh is currently being held at the Jail without Bond.
